Job summary

The Nuffield Department of Women’s and Reproductive Health at Oxford invites applications for a Senior Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the EndoCaRe Centre. You will lead translational research translating genetic discoveries into potential treatments for endometriosis, working with our industrial partner to validate targets in patient-derived tissues.

You will hold a PhD/DPhil and substantial postdoctoral experience, with publications and expertise in genome editing, gene/protein

Qualifications

• PhD/DPhil in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, reproductive biology or related field.
• Postdoctoral experience with genome editing methodologies.
• Strong publication record with first-author papers.
• Experience with gene and protein expression analysis in primary tissues and tissue culture.
• Ability to plan and manage research projects and budgets; supervisory experience.
• Bioinformatic analysis of genomic or transcriptomic data essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead research activities to validate novel therapeutic targets using patient-derived endometriosis tissues.
• Develop and optimise experimental protocols; investigate disease-relevant cellular processes.
• Collaborate with clinicians, geneticists and computational scientists.
• Contribute to publications and presentations; manage research activities and budgets.
• Provide supervision and guidance to other members of the research team.
