Job summary

Oxford University invites applications for a Postdoctoral Scientist to lead biomarker and disease‑mechanism research within a world‑leading therapeutic genomics programme. Based in the Big Data Institute (BDI) and IDRM, you will drive analyses of large genomic datasets from human samples, cell lines, and mouse models, and supervise MSc/PhD students.

Applicants will have a PhD/DPhil in a relevant field, strong programming skills in R/Python, and a track record of collaboration and high‑quality

Qualifications

• PhD/DPhil (or near completion) in genomics, genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics, or statistics with peer‑reviewed publications.
• Proficiency in R and/or Python and ability to manage day-to-day research activities.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead bioinformatic and statistical analyses of large-scale genomic and transcriptomic datasets.
• Develop and implement novel analytical approaches where appropriate.
• Lead the research project and collaborate with internal and external researchers.
• Supervise MSc and PhD students and disseminate findings via publications and conferences.
