Job summary

Legal & General (L&G) is seeking a Senior Engineer to join our Group Protection technology team. This role focuses on delivering modern cloud-based solutions across the full software lifecycle, influencing engineering practices and security.

You will mentor colleagues and collaborate with stakeholders to turn ideas into scalable, reliable applications. You’ll work within a collaborative environment, delivering high-quality software, championing best practices and continuous improvement while

Qualifications

• Experience of developing software using Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building and supporting RESTful microservices in Spring Boot, Node.js or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies, ideally Azure, and containerisation tools.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices; GitHub Actions preferred.
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, clean architecture and TDD.
• Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban).
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management; ability to translate requirements into solutions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and fostering collaborative culture.

• Design, develop and deploy scalable applications using modern engineering practices.
