Job summary

Legal & General is seeking a Senior Engineer to join the Group Protection technology team in the UK. You will help shape and deliver modern cloud-based solutions across the full software delivery lifecycle, collaborating with stakeholders and mentoring peers to drive engineering excellence.

You will work on scalable, secure applications, influence technical direction, and contribute to continuous improvement while delivering value for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience developing software using Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building and supporting RESTful microservices in Spring Boot, Node.js or similar frameworks.
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies and CI/CD practices, preferably Azure and GitHub Actions.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve services and applications across their full lifecycle.
• Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand business needs and shape technical solutions.
• Design, develop and deploy scalable applications using modern engineering practices.
• Champion secure software development and promote engineering best practices.
