Job summary
Legal & General in the UK is hiring a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our Group Protection technology team. You will shape and deliver modern cloud-based solutions across the full software delivery lifecycle.
You’ll collaborate with product owners and engineers to turn ideas into scalable, secure applications, mentor colleagues, and contribute to engineering excellence across our platforms.
Qualifications
- Experience building software with Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- RESTful microservices in Spring Boot or Node.js.
- Cloud technologies and containerisation experience, preferably Azure.
Responsibilities
- Owning and evolving services and applications across their full lifecycle.
- Collaborating with product owners to understand business needs and shape technical solutions.
- Designing, developing and deploying scalable applications using modern engineering practices.
- Driving quality through automated testing, observability and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Leading technical problem-solving and supporting incident investigation and resolution.
- Championing secure software development practices and promoting engineering best practice.
- Mentoring and coaching engineers to strengthen team capability and technical excellence.
- Contributing to architectural decisions and reducing technical debt.
