Job summary
Legal & General (L&G) is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to join our Group Protection technology team. You will shape and deliver modern cloud-based solutions across the full software delivery lifecycle, influencing technical direction and building secure, reliable applications for customers and colleagues.
Working with a collaborative team, you’ll partner with stakeholders, product owners and engineers to turn ideas into impactful solutions, while mentoring others and driving engineering
Qualifications
- Experience developing software using Java and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience building RESTful microservices in Spring Boot or Node.js.
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, ideally Azure, and containerisation.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve services and applications across their full lifecycle.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to understand business needs and shape technical solutions.
- Design, develop and deploy scalable applications using modern engineering practices.
- Drive quality through automated testing, observability and continuous improvement.
- Lead technical problem-solving and support incident investigation and resolution.
- Champion secure software development practices and promote engineering best practice.
- Mentor and coach engineers to strengthen team capability and technical excellence.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and reduce technical debt to improve platform sustainability.
