Job summary

Xcede Recruitment Solutions in London is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Core Platform team of a leading UK media and entertainment organisation. You will design, build and support the internal Common Platform used by engineering teams.

The role blends hands-on engineering with AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform, automation, CI/CD and internal developer tooling, with a focus on scalable infrastructure, security and reliable production operations.

Qualifications

• Experience building internal platform tools and developer platforms.
• Strong programming/automation using Python or Go.
• Advanced Terraform/Infrastructure as Code with reusable modules.
• Experience building and operating production EKS clusters.
• Deep Kubernetes knowledge beyond deployment of workloads.
• Understanding of AWS native services and service integrations.
• Proficient in CI/CD and modern software delivery practices.
• Experience with production infrastructure support and incident resolution.
• Knowledge of cloud security and scalable infrastructure design.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop reusable Terraform modules for the internal platform.
• Build and operate production AWS EKS/Kubernetes environments.
• Develop internal platform tooling, frameworks and automation.
• Use Python, Go or similar languages to automate platform tasks.
• Design AWS-native infrastructure and services for new apps.
• Create and maintain standard CI/CD pipelines and workflows.
• Support observability and monitoring across the platform.
• Manage Kubernetes upgrades and platform improvements.
• Assist with incident response and complex infra issues.
• Review infrastructure and code changes via PRs.
• Collaborate with Embedded Platform and Software Engineers.
• Provide guidance and share platform best practices.
