Job summary

Preply is seeking a Senior Platform Software Engineer for the Developer Platform team in London. The role centers on building and operating CI/CD systems, improving developer tooling, and enabling autonomous coding, testing, and deployment.

You’ll leverage AI-native workflows and strong backend design to shape scalable platform services. You will work in hybrid mode with ownership over critical pipelines and internal tooling, partnering with engineers across squads to raise the bar on

Qualifications

• CI/CD depth: hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD systems at scale.
• Extensive backend design experience, roughly 8 years.
• Proficient in Python for platform services and automation.
• Forefront user of Agentic AI, shaping architecture and safety nets.
• Experience building developer platforms and internal tooling.
• Understanding of developer workflows and internal tooling needs.
• Familiarity with cloud-native environments and distributed systems.
• Business orientation and data-driven decision making.
• Strong English communication at C1 level.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate CI/CD systems, tooling, and platforms for rapid software delivery.
• Own and evolve the developer journey from code to test to deployment.
• Create internal platforms and tooling to reduce friction for engineers.
• Provide infrastructure and paved paths for autonomous development and testing.
• Apply AI and agentic workflows to improve lifecycle and set quality gates.
• Participate in incident rotation and use data to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive adoption of tooling.
