Job summary

Preply is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer in the United Kingdom to drive backend and frontend initiatives with a strong emphasis on scalable architectures and AI-enabled development. You will shape technical direction, mentor peers, and collaborate with product, data, and UX teams to deliver measurable impact.

You will work in a cross-functional team, balancing immediate product needs with long-term sustainability, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability.

Qualifications

• Backend-heavy full-stack role with ~60% backend and 40% frontend work.
• Strong design and delivery of scalable web services.
• English level B2 or higher, excellent communication.
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Back-end development using Python/Django and integrations with third-party services.
• Frontend development in React/TypeScript and E2E experimentation frameworks.
• Lead complex initiatives from discovery to deployment with ownership.
• Mentor teammates, perform architectural reviews, and promote best practices.
• Partner with Product, Data, and UX to validate hypotheses and drive impact.
• Shape system architecture for scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Navigate ambiguity, evaluate trade-offs, and align with business goals.
• Collaborate across engineering, product, design and data functions.
• Raise quality through craftsmanship and continuous learning.
