Job summary

Raytheon UK in Gloucester is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join our National Security Cyber team. The role is permanent, full-time, hybrid (min 3 days a week on site).

You will build and set up development tools and infrastructure, automate release processes, ensure security against cyber threats, and work with engineers to deliver scalable CI/CD pipelines for large-scale applications, while supporting SC and eDV clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience in Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery models.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure) and IaC tooling.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines and large-scale deployments.
• Proficiency with container platforms (Kubernetes, Docker) and related tooling.
• Automation and integration tools such as Jenkins or Concourse CI.

Role & Responsibilities

• Building and setting up development tools and infrastructure
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders
• Automate and improve development and release processes
• Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cyber security threats
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions
• Work with other engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended

Required experience

• Experience of working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery mode
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure)
• Infrastructure as code e.g. Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible etc.
• Experience in building and deploying large-scale applications in Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines
• Container platform and orchestration systems ECS, AKS, Kubernetes/helm/Docker
• Experience in automation and integration tools such as Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents
• Experience in scripting languages and source control
