Job summary

Raytheon UK is seeking a Platform Engineer to deploy applications and enhance development processes. This role is onsite in Gloucester and requires candidates to be eligible for SC and eDV clearance.

The successful applicant will have experience in Agile/SCRUM frameworks and cloud technologies, working in a collaborative environment, while also enjoying flexible working options and competitive benefits, including a contributory pension scheme and 25 days holiday.

Qualifications

• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Experience in Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.

Role & Responsibilities

• Deploy applications and software to cloud or on‑prem environments for various business areas.
• Build and set up development tools and infrastructure.
• Understand the needs of project stakeholders.
• Automate and improve development and release processes.
• Ensure systems are safe and secure against cyber threats.
• Identify technical problems and develop software updates and solutions.
• Collaborate with other engineers to ensure development follows established processes and works as intended.

Required Experience

• Experience working in an Agile/SCRUM/DevOps delivery model.
• Cloud technologies (AWS or Azure).
• Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, etc.).
• Experience building and deploying large‑scale applications.
• Continuous Integration/Delivery pipelines.
• Container platform and orchestration systems (ECS, AKS, Kubernetes, Helm, Docker).
• Experience automation and integration tools (Jenkins, Concourse CI or cloud equivalents).
• Experience in scripting languages and source control.
