Job summary

AECOM is seeking a seasoned Project Controller/Cost Engineer in the UK to support project controls for major infrastructure projects. The role requires leading meetings, maintaining integrated schedules (MS Project/Primavera P6), and coordinating cost forecasting and change control.

Hybrid work options available; onboarding at an AECOM office is part of the process. You will collaborate with Project Managers, monitor earned value, and prepare dashboards and executive summaries for stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Confident in leading meetings.
• Supportive role to a Project Manager.
• Developed and maintained integrated project schedules using MS Project, Primavera P6.
• Defined work breakdown structures (WBS), dependencies, milestones, and critical paths.
• Produced baseline schedules, monitored progress, and managed schedule change control.
• Forecasted resource demand and aligned plans with delivery and operational teams.
• Identified schedule risks, constraints, and mitigations.
• Generated progress reports, dashboards, and executive summaries for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Use company cornerstone systems and data formats to control the project.
• Analyse financial data to identify key project issues.
• Lead junior staff through assignment tasks where applicable.
• Track action items and ensure follow-up.
• Use drawings and specs to establish project baseline data.
• Apply accounting principles to document project financial position.
• Prepare revised cost forecasts and analyze progress trends and cost impact.
• Review contractor invoices and provide cost trend insights.
• Work hands-on with earned value monitoring.
• Develop cost/schedule baseline budgets and monitor variance.
• Support change management and scope control.
