Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd in Truro, Cornwall, is seeking a Senior Town Planner to join a respected planning consultancy and work across residential, commercial, tourism, rural and mixed-use developments.

You will manage a varied workload, advise clients and authorities, with hybrid working and a competitive salary of £45,000. MRTPI status or progress toward chartership is welcomed.

Qualifications

• Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority or similar planning environment.
• Strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant planning policy.
• Experience managing planning applications and advising on development proposals.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Excellent written, analytical and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing planning applications, appeals and planning strategies across a variety of development types.
• Working on residential schemes, commercial developments and mixed-use projects
• Advising on rural planning matters, including agricultural buildings, conversions and diversification projects.
• Supporting development proposals from initial feasibility and planning appraisals through to submission and determination.
• Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation.
• Building strong relationships with clients, local authorities and other project stakeholders.
• Coordinating with architects, developers and technical consultants to progress projects.
• Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy.
• Providing guidance and support to junior colleagues where appropriate.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Town Planner to join an established planning consultancy based in Truro. This is an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Cornwall and the wider South West, covering residential, commercial, tourism, rural and mixed-use developments.

You will have the opportunity to manage a varied workload, advise clients on complex planning matters and contribute to projects at different stages of the planning process, with the flexibility of hybrid working and a competitive salary of £45,000.

The Role

As a Senior Town Planner, you will take responsibility for managing a range of planning projects, working closely with clients, local authorities and wider project teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing planning applications, appeals and planning strategies across a variety of development types.
• Working on residential schemes, commercial developments and mixed-use projects
• Advising on rural planning matters, including agricultural buildings, conversions and diversification projects.
