Job summary

Vivid Resourcing is seeking a Senior Planner to join a growing South West team in Bristol. You will lead planning applications, provide strategic advice, and mentor junior planners. The role offers hybrid working and strong client management, with opportunities to shape the regional planning function.

MRTPI preferred; requires excellent communication and project management skills. You will collaborate with colleagues across disciplines to deliver successful outcomes and contribute to business

Qualifications

• MRTPI qualification and experience in planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
• Strong technical planning expertise and ability to manage projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Location: Bristol (minimum 3 days per week in the office)

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Planner to join a growing Planning team in the South West. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while playing a key role in client management, project delivery, mentoring junior team members, and supporting the continued growth of the regional business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage planning applications, appeals, and strategic planning projects.
• Provide clear and commercially focused planning advice to clients.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, local authorities, and key stakeholders.
• Support business development activities and identify opportunities to win new work.
• Mentor and develop junior planners, providing guidance and technical support.

About You

• MRTPI qualified.
• Experience within a planning consultancy, local authority, or development environment.
• Strong technical planning expertise and project management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Good knowledge of the South West planning market and policy landscape.
• Commercially aware with an interest in networking and business development.
• A collaborative team player who enjoys supporting and mentoring junior colleagues.
