Job summary

SYSTRA UK & Ireland is seeking a Principal Engineer (Physical Security) to lead secure-by-design security across a portfolio of transport projects in the UK, including rail and mass transit. Based in Leeds, you will guide security governance, risk assessments, and client-facing strategy within the Systems Engineering & Assurance discipline.

The role requires substantial experience in physical security management for rail projects, membership in relevant security bodies, and a track record of

Qualifications

• Experience in Physical Security management and processes including Security Planning and governance.
• Security Risk Assessments, threat and vulnerability risk assessments, and security assurance reports.
• Knowledge of Hostile Vehicle Mitigation design and secure-by-design principles.
• UK rail industry experience with mainline or mass transit projects.
• Professional membership: CSyP, RSES or ICAO AvSec PM.

Responsibilities

• Define and direct the Systra way with secure-by-design processes.
• Develop security strategy with clients and bid teams.
• Design and manage physical security across projects for proportionate solutions.
• Advise on Security overlay to RIBA plan of work and Rail frameworks.
• Review physical security deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Support growth of physical security capability across SYSTRA worldwide.
• Upskill peers within Systems Engineering and Assurance discipline.
• Prepare technical deliverables and assist in tender responses.
• Ensure CDM health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Manage project-related correspondence.
