Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer to manage stores and procurement for the Rochester prison pharmacy. You will dispense medicines under pharmacist supervision, ensure GDP standards, and oversee stock control and routine ordering.

You will play a key role in maintaining cold chain integrity, conducting fridge checks, and supporting pharmacists with recalls and drug alerts within a secure NHS environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Services with stores units 205/206 and GPhC registration.
• Completion of dispensary competencies (signed off as competent to dispense medicines).
• Certificate in purchasing and supply (CIPS) level 2 or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines using the pharmacy IT system, following SOPs.
• Keep the dispensary clean and tidy at all times.
• Assist pharmacists with drug alerts and recalls.
• Check and record fridge temperatures daily to maintain cold chain integrity.
• Report errors or issues to the senior pharmacy technician or Responsible Pharmacist.
