Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust in Rochester is recruiting a Senior Pharmacy Assistant Technical Officer - Stores, Band 3, for full-time work at HMP Rochester. The role supports procurement, IT dispensing, storage, GDP and environmental monitoring within the prison environment.

The post requires NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services with stores units and GPhC registration, plus at least 2 years in pharmacy stores. A strong eye for detail and adherence to SOPs is essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services with stores units 205/206 and GPhC registration.
• Completion of dispensary competencies and related SOPs.
• Experience using pharmacy stock control IT systems (e.g., JAC).

Responsibilities

• Dispense medicines via the IT system under pharmacist screening.
• Maintain clean, tidy dispensary and store areas.
• Assist with drug alerts and recalls procedures.
• Record fridge temperatures daily to maintain cold chain integrity.
• Report errors promptly to senior staff and Responsible Pharmacist.
• Manage procurement, ordering and reception of medicines per GDP.
