Job summary

M-KOPA is seeking a Lead People Partner to own the people agenda for our Technology organisation as we scale the infrastructure behind financial inclusion for everyday earners across Africa.

You’ll partner with engineering, data and platform leadership, shaping org design, leadership development and people strategy at C-suite level while building a globally distributed team across Africa, Europe and the UK. This role is fully remote with global impact.

Qualifications

• Senior HR experience partnering with engineering organisations in scaling technology or fintech.
• Experience leading or coaching HR business partners to raise the standard of their work.
• Proven org design depth: levelling, spans and layers, function redesign.
• Strategic and operational range: long-term strategy and team level.
• Remote and global savvy: cross-cultural experience across regions.
• Autonomy at C-level with ER judgement across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Act as trusted advisor to engineering, data and platform leaders, aligning people strategy to roadmap execution and organisational evolution.
• Hold accountability for people partnering across Technology and Product, with a Senior People Partner reporting to you.
• Lead and coach a direct report, setting direction and governance for the technology portfolio.
• Use people analytics to inform decisions on capability, attrition and cost.
• Drive distributed team effectiveness across multi-country environment.
• Handle complex employee relations judgements and escalation.
