Job description

Are you a Senior HR Business Partner looking for a new challenge, a People Business Partner ready for your next career step, or an experienced HR Generalist looking to focus on real business impact? We're on the lookout for a Senior People Business Partner to join our People Operations & Development team in Milton Keynes, working directly with senior leaders to shape people strategies, influence business decisions and help take our People transformation journey to the next level.

  • Join us at a pivotal stage, where the foundations of our People transformation have been built and we're ready to take the next step.
  • Partner directly with Managing Directors and senior leaders across the Group, shaping organisational design, leadership capability and talent strategies.
  • Translate commercial priorities into meaningful people plans that improve organisational performance, capability and culture.
  • Act as the bridge between our People Operations function and the Business Units you support, connecting leaders with the expertise and support they need.
  • Influence decisions, challenge thinking and drive meaningful change, without being expected to personally deliver every element of the People agenda.

About You

You're a commercially minded People professional who knows how to turn business priorities into people outcomes, building credibility quickly and challenging constructively along the way. You enjoy working closely with senior leaders, bringing fresh perspectives and practical solutions, and you're looking for somewhere your contribution can make a genuine difference.

  • You have experience in HR or People Business Partnering, or a comparable role where influencing senior stakeholders has been central to your success.
  • You understand commercial realities and know how to translate them into effective, people-focused strategies.
  • You're comfortable leading change, coaching leaders and helping organisations improve performance and culture.
  • You bring a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to challenge constructively.
  • You may come from transport, logistics, retail, hospitality, distribution, manufacturing or another commercially focused environment.

We know great People professionals don't all follow the same career path. If you have relevant transferable experience and the confidence to work at this level, we'd encourage you to apply, even if you don't tick every box.

About Us

Dawsongroup has been helping customers access the assets and solutions they need for over 50 years, with around 1,250 colleagues operating across 11 countries. We're on an exciting transformation journey, investing in our people, our leadership and our capabilities to create a modern, commercially focused People function that supports our future ambitions.

  • We're an established, growing organisation with a diverse range of Business Units and operational environments.
  • We've made significant investment in People Operations & Development, building the foundations for our next phase of growth.
  • We believe in growing together, thinking bigger and giving our people the opportunity to make a lasting impact.
  • We're committed to developing talent, creating rewarding careers and building a culture where different experiences and perspectives are valued.

About Your Future

Not every Senior People Business Partner role offers the chance to build something, and opportunities to join a function at this stage of its evolution don't come along often. You'll be joining at a time when your ideas, experience and leadership can genuinely shape the future, with the opportunity to influence decisions and create lasting impact across Dawsongroup.

  • A central, Group-wide role based at our Milton Keynes Head Office, 100% office-based.
  • A company car and the opportunity to work directly with Managing Directors and senior leaders.
  • The chance to shape the next phase of our People transformation journey and see the real impact of your work.
  • 24 days standard leave allowance + Birthday + plus Bank Holidays + up to 10 days extra (time served and purchase scheme).
  • Funded training, internal progression opportunities, life assurance and wellbeing support.

The foundations are in place. The ambition is there. Now we need someone who can help build what's next.

If you're looking for more than another HR Business Partner role, and want to influence senior leaders, challenge thinking and help shape the future of a growing organisation, we'd love to hear from you.
