Job summary

BrightLocal is seeking a Senior People Advisor to be the trusted partner for managers on people challenges, applying UK employment law with sound judgment to lead fairly. You’ll work with a small People team, reporting to the Head of People Experience, and shape how we support managers through difficult situations while maintaining wellbeing and compliance.

You’ll join a business evolving with AI, helping leaders and their teams grow confidence, navigate change, and raise our leadership

Qualifications

• Sound working knowledge of UK employment law and the judgment to apply it to delicate real situations.
• Track record of coaching and influencing managers, including senior ones, and holding your position when challenged.
• Delivery-focused: comfortable working with ambiguity and using creative problem-solving to move ideas forward.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders and teams to provide guidance on people challenges and performance.
• Support managers through day-to-day people challenges, including performance and formal capability processes.
• Handle formal matters through to outcomes with fairness and care.
• Manage long-term and complex absence with genuine care, including occupational health referrals and adjusted returns.
• Keep records clear and accurate to protect everyone if a case escalates.
