Job summary

Aptia Group in Edinburgh is seeking an experienced Pensions Administrator to support clients and scheme members on complex queries and calculations, peer review junior staff, and advise on procedural changes.

You will work on a hybrid basis aligned to Aptia UK offices, applying your technical knowledge of Defined Benefit schemes and UK pensions legislation while contributing to budgeting, process improvements and client relationships.

Qualifications

• Liaising with clients and trustees on complex queries and calculations.
• Ability to perform complex pension calculations and peer review others’ work.
• Strong knowledge of DB schemes, member calculation processes and UK pensions legislation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and good analytical skills.
• Willingness to analyse and improve pension processes.
• Professional qualification (e.g., PMI) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Communicating with clients and scheme members via letter, email and telephone.
• Gaining thorough understanding of scheme details and ensuring work follows scheme rules.
• Performing complex pensions calculations and entering data across automated and manual processes.
• Carrying out checking activity to support colleagues and using MI to monitor progress.
• Managing queries and ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and quality.
• Identifying opportunities to generate additional revenue within the client group.
• Keeping up to date with technical developments and legislative changes.
