Job summary

System C is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead accurate, compliant payroll across a multi-entity organisation, including international arrangements managed through external providers. The role covers pension administration, employment tax compliance, payroll systems and controls.

This senior role offers autonomy to strengthen controls, modernise processes and drive payroll transformation through acquisitions and integrations.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading complex UK payroll operations.
• Experience coordinating overseas payrolls and inputs to external providers.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI and statutory payments.
• Experience across multi-entity organisations and acquisitions.
• Experience with outsourced payroll providers and advisers.
• Knowledge of pension auto-enrolment requirements.
• Experience with ADP or similar enterprise payroll systems.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end payroll delivery across multiple entities and overseas payrolls.
• Manage payroll controls, reconciliations, approvals and reporting.
• Ensure HMRC compliance for PAYE, NI and statutory requirements.
• Oversee year-end activities including P60s, P11Ds, and share schemes reporting.
• Support pension administration and auto-enrolment compliance.
• Drive payroll system optimisation and automation.
• Lead payroll workstreams for acquisitions, TUPE transfers.
• Develop and coach a high-performing payroll team.
