Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd is seeking a Head of Payroll to own a complex international payroll operation across 12 countries, with a strong UK focus, for c.3,500 employees in a global consumer-facing business. This senior role leads the payroll team and outsourced providers, drives automation and process improvement, ensures compliance, and partners with Finance, HR, and our US HQ on governance.

Qualifications

• Significant UK payroll experience with international exposure.
• Experience across multiple European countries.
• Experience managing outsourced payroll providers.
• Strong knowledge of UK and European payroll legislation.
• Proven team leadership and senior stakeholder management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead payroll across 12 countries and ~3,500 employees.
• Manage and develop the payroll team.
• Oversee outsourced payroll providers and SLAs.
• Ensure compliance with UK/European payroll legislation, tax, pensions and statutory requirements.
• Own payroll-related month-end, year-end and audit activity.
• Drive automation and transformation projects.
• Strengthen payroll controls and audit trails.
• Partner with Finance, HR, HRIS and wider business stakeholders.
• Support international expansion and new systems.
• Collaborate with US HQ on governance and controls.
