Job summary

System C is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead accurate, compliant payroll delivery across our multi-entity organisation, including international arrangements managed through external providers. The role also oversees payroll-related pension administration and tax compliance, while supporting growth and transformation.

Qualifications

• Extensive UK payroll leadership experience with end-to-end delivery.
• Experience coordinating overseas payrolls with external providers.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI, and statutory payments.
• Experience with multi-entity organisations and outsourcing payroll.
• Proven ability to drive payroll system improvements and automation.
• Experience with acquisitions, TUPE, and payroll transformation programmes.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll across multiple entities, including overseas payrolls.
• Manage payroll controls, reconciliations, approvals and reporting.
• Ensure HMRC compliance (PAYE, NI, statutory).
• Oversee year-end activities (P60s, P11Ds, share schemes) and statutory submissions.
• Support pension administration and auto-enrolment.
• Drive payroll system optimisation and automation.
• Lead workstreams linked to acquisitions and TUPE.
• Coach and develop payroll team with focus on service and continuous improvement.
