Cobb & Jones are seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to lead and mentor a payroll team in a Kings Hill-based hybrid role. You will manage end-to-end payroll, ensure accuracy, and collaborate with senior stakeholders to resolve complex issues.

The role combines hands-on processing with people management, requiring strong HMRC knowledge and attention to detail. Hybrid setup with two days in the office supports flexible collaboration.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a payroll role, with leadership experience.
• Strong end-to-end payroll processing knowledge including HMRC FPS/EPS.
• Experience with multi-site or multi-company payroll is advantageous.
• Attention to detail and methodical reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end payroll cycle including hands-on processing.
• Review payroll runs for accuracy (first-line checks).
• Support system-wide calculations and inter-company transfers.
• Identify and report over- or underpayments with evidence.
• Complete manual system backups as scheduled.
• Assist with HMRC communications (FPS/EPS).
• Close payroll cycles and run reports.
• Provide cover during periods of absence and critical processing.
• Keep up to date with payroll legislation changes.
