Job summary

Fresh People are recruiting a Payroll Bureau Supervisor to join an established accountancy practice based in Canterbury. This is a hands-on role to manage a portfolio of client payrolls while supporting the day-to-day running of the payroll team.

You will ensure payrolls are processed accurately and on time and act as a point of contact for client queries. This position requires experience independently managing multiple client payrolls within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice, and strong

Qualifications

• Previous experience independently managing multiple client payrolls in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice is essential.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end payrolls for a portfolio of clients across weekly, fortnightly and monthly pay frequencies.
• Obtain, review and validate client payroll information, including timesheets, overtime, salary changes and other adjustments.
• Process starters, leavers, statutory payments, PAYE, National Insurance and other deductions.
• Complete accurate and timely HMRC submissions, including FPS and EPS.
• Administer workplace pensions and auto-enrolment requirements.
• Complete year-end payroll processes, including producing P60s, and issue P45s for leavers.
• Check payroll work, investigate discrepancies and resolve complex queries.
• Support colleagues with payroll processing, technical queries and day-to-day workload priorities.
• Build effective client relationships, explaining payroll requirements and following up outstanding information.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records and keep payroll processes compliant with relevant requirements.
