Job summary

Mott MacDonald Ltd. is seeking a Principal Overhead Line Engineer to join our Transmission & Distribution team. You will deliver complex HV OHL designs, model using PLS-CADD, and mentor junior staff while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You will lead design studies, manage project documentation, and ensure compliance with international standards. Hybrid working is available across multiple UK locations including Brighton and London.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Civil/Structural Engineering or equivalent with extensive experience.
• Proficient in writing and reviewing reports.
• Experience in an OHL engineering environment with scheme/design management.
• Mentor to junior staff and lead meetings; strong communication.
• Proficient in preparing, coordinating and reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform, review and approve High Voltage OHL designs to international standards.
• Ensure designs comply with legislation, standards, and procedures.
• Update or create design standards and related documentation.
• Manage a team and mentor juniors.
• Coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver projects.
