Job summary

Pearson is seeking an Oracle Engineer to join the team delivering our TOpS programme. You will design, build and support Oracle database solutions and APEX applications, owning data pipelines that ingest, transform and validate data from multiple sources.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and supporting Oracle APEX apps in a commercial setting.
• Strong background in data transformation and integration projects.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications from data model to UI, security and deployment.
• Write and optimise high-quality SQL/PL/SQL including packages, procedures, functions and triggers.
• Build, schedule and monitor data pipelines (ETL/ELT) that load and reconcile data between Oracle and other systems.
• Implement data validation rules, reconciliation checks and exception handling.
• Tune performance of queries, pipelines and APEX pages using execution plans, indexing and partitioning.
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and technical documentation.
• Support live services by investigating incidents and data defects.
