Job summary

Pearson, a global education company, seeks an Oracle Engineer to design, build and support Oracle APEX applications and data pipelines. You will ensure data quality and reliability across multiple sources, collaborating with SMEs, product owners, architects, QA engineers and fellow developers.

The role focuses on delivering robust Oracle databases, ETL/ELT pipelines and secure, scalable APEX interfaces within a hybrid working model involving Rotherham, Manchester or London bases.

Qualifications

• Solid background in Oracle development with APEX apps in a commercial setting.
• Experience with data transformation or integration projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain Oracle APEX apps from data model to UI and deployment.
• Write and optimise SQL/PLSQL; create packages, procedures and triggers.
• Build and monitor ETL/ELT pipelines between Oracle and other systems.
• Implement data validation and reconciliation rules.
• Tune performance using execution plans, indexing, and partitioning.
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and docs.
• Support live services by investigating incidents and data defects.
