Operations Manager
Birmingham Full Time, Permanent
Working Schedule: Monday-Friday 06:00-15:30 / 09:30-19:00
Salary: 50,000 + Bonus + Benefits

An established and well-regarded distribution business is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee its Birmingham site. With a large-scale fleet and high-volume service levels, this is a key role managing the end-to-end warehouse and transport operation to ensure smooth, safe and efficient delivery to customers.

This position plays a central role in shaping site performance, managing compliance across transport and H&S, and ensuring seamless collaboration across operational and commercial teams.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop warehouse and driver teams to deliver against key KPIs
Ensure legal and company compliance across transport and fleet operations
Uphold health, safety, and environmental standards throughout the site
Manage facilities, contractors, and maintenance to budget and compliance levels
Control operational costs and drive efficiencies through continuous improvement
Act as the key link between operations, customer service, and sales
Promote a strong safety and performance culture across all levels of staff

Experience & Skills Required
Proven experience managing warehouse and transport operations in a fast-paced environment
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
CPC/OLAT and IOSH/NEBOSH qualifications beneficial
Fleet and driver compliance knowledge essential
Hands-on, process-driven, and collaborative management style
Exposure to facilities management, cost control, and quality systems
MHE licences (Counterbalance / Aisle Master) advantageous
