Job description

If you are professionally tenacious and looking for your next opportunity to influence results through a safety culture and ensure high standards of care, then this is a fantastic chance to join the UHL Tactical Operations Team as a Senior Operational Manager.

The post holder will oversee patient flow throughout the UHL campus across all disciplines and collaborate with the entire Multi-Disciplinary Team.

The main responsibilities include leading the daily operational and tactical agenda, ensuring the delivery of outcomes related to quality, performance, finance, workforce, transformation, and collaborative system working.

The primary role of the Senior Operational Manager is to maintain patient flow from the Emergency Department, Admission areas, and CDU at GGH to the wards across all three sites, balancing elective and planned hospital work.

• Coordinate with Duty Managers, the Head of Capacity, and command teams to address operational issues promptly, escalating problems with actionable plans to resolve them.
• Manage the duty management team responsible for patient pathway processes across UHL and ensure safe and appropriate patient placements.
• Work closely with the discharge team to facilitate safe and timely discharges, especially out of hours.
• Utilize up-to-date information to manage flow across all hospital areas.
