Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group in Manchester is seeking a Senior OpenShift Platform Operations Lead to own the operational performance, resilience and security of our OpenShift estate. This is a senior leadership role shaping strategy across multiple platform environments.

You will work closely with Platform Engineering, SRE, Security and Service Management to deliver reliable services at scale in a hybrid model with offices in Manchester, Leeds or Edinburgh.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience operating large-scale OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
• Proven ability to lead platform operations, incident management and service recovery across complex tech environments.
• Strong understanding of operational security controls including RBAC, certificates, secrets management, authentication and audit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead operational outcomes across the OpenShift platform estate, ensuring security, resilience and full support.
• Define and embed operational standards, runbooks and governance across incident management, change execution and platform lifecycle activities.
• Provide leadership during major incidents, coordinate teams and drive root cause analysis with long-term improvements.
• Oversee platform upgrades, patching and lifecycle management in line with risk and security requirements.
• Improve monitoring, observability and telemetry for proactive platform management.
• Collaborate with Platform Engineering to ensure new capabilities are ready and documented.
