Job summary

Lloyds Banking Group seeks an OpenShift Senior Engineer to lead platform design and delivery across OpenShift and Kubernetes in a hybrid cloud environment. You will set architectural direction, balance enterprise controls with cloud-native practices, and drive resilience, security and compliance while enabling AI, data-intensive workloads and serverless patterns.

You will coach senior engineers, coordinate across squads, and represent the platform in governance and vendor engagements.

Qualifications

Extensive experience designing, building and operating OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms at scale.
Deep knowledge of platform internals, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security controls.
Proven track record setting architectural direction across teams or platform domains.
Strong systems thinking for complex distributed platforms and long‑term trade-offs.
Expertise in secure-by-design and resilience engineering within regulated environments.

Responsibilities

Set technical direction and guardrails for OpenShift and hybrid cloud services.
Lead high-impact design decisions covering resilience, security, scalability and compliance.
Own complex multi-squad initiatives, managing dependencies and operational readiness.
Coach senior engineers in system design and architectural thinking.
Represent the platform in governance, design reviews and vendor engagements.
