Lloyds Banking Group is seeking an OpenShift Senior Engineer (Kubernetes/OpenShift) in the UK. The role focuses on shaping the OpenShift and private cloud platform, leading multi‑team initiatives, and ensuring resilience, security and regulatory compliance across hybrid cloud environments.

You will set technical direction, coach engineers, and drive architectural decisions while maintaining cost efficiency and platform health. Hybrid working with multiple office sites is supported.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building and operating OpenShift or Kubernetes platforms at scale.
• Deep knowledge of platform internals, lifecycle management, networking, storage, security controls and integration patterns.
• Proven record of setting architectural direction and engineering standards across multiple teams or platform domains.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction and architectural guardrails for OpenShift and supporting hybrid cloud services.
• Lead high-impact design decisions covering resilience, security, scalability, compliance and sustainability.
• Own complex multi-squad initiatives, managing dependencies, operational readiness and safe implementation.
• Balance immediate delivery with platform health, technical debt, reliability and cost efficiency.
• Coach senior engineers in system design, decision-making and architectural thinking.
• Represent the platform in governance, design reviews and vendor engagements.
