Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an experienced hospital pharmacist to lead oncology pharmacy services. You will support electronic prescribing, SACT EP, and patient-focused medicines management within Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

You will develop policies to ensure safe practice, provide expert prescribing for cancer patients, and help deliver the department's strategic vision with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Extensive hospital experience (post-registration).
• Experience in clinical pharmacy services and safe use of medicines.
• Experience developing medicines policies for a specialty.
• Experience working with electronic prescribing systems.
• Desirable: Trainer experience.
• Experience in project management and delivering outcomes.
• Effective liaison with Trust level committees and groups.
• Experience protocol building validation with an e-prescribing system.
• Experience assessing risk and developing mitigation plans.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support oncology pharmacy services, including electronic prescribing and SACT EP.
• Develop policies and procedures to ensure safe medication practices.
• Provide specialist pharmaceutical prescribing for designated patient groups.
• Promote safe, effective and cost-efficient use of medicines.
• Contribute to the strategic vision of the pharmacy department.
