Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting an Advanced Oncology Pharmacist – Electronic Prescribing to lead the development of the EP system for systemic anti‑cancer therapy (SACT). The post provides leadership for oncology pharmacy and supports MVCC with EP delivery.

You will shape policies, drive safe prescribing and work within the pharmacy management team to realise the cancer centre and trust strategies.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Pharmacy and GPhC registration.
Postgraduate diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent.
Registered independent prescriber with current license.
BOPA Passport – adult level 2c completed.

Responsibilities

Lead the strategy, design and development of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) system for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
Maintain the EP system, electronic referrals and electronic Patient Reported Outcome Measures for SACT.
Provide leadership for all aspects of SACT EP and support the oncology pharmacy service at MVCC with EP focus.
Develop policies and procedures to ensure safe medication practices for electronic prescribing.
Apply specialist knowledge to designated patient groups to develop pharmacist prescribing within clinical management plans.
Promote safe, cost-effective use of medicines and advise on oncology pharmacy issues including funding and prescribing.
As part of the pharmacy management team, help deliver the strategic vision and business plan for the department.
