Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is seeking an Advanced Oncology Pharmacist - Electronic Prescribing to lead and develop the EP system for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, Northwood.

The role focuses on safe, high-quality pharmaceutical care, advanced prescriber responsibilities, and contributing to the cancer centre and trust strategy with strong leadership and change management skills.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Pharmacy required.
• Registered with General Pharmaceutical Council as a pharmacist.
• Post graduate diploma in pharmacy practice or equivalent.
• Registered independent prescriber.
• BOPA Passport – completion of adult level 2c.
• Leadership and/or management qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the EP system for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).
• Maintain the EP system, electronic referrals, and electronic PRO measures for SACT.
• Provide leadership for all aspects of SACT EP and delivery of the oncology pharmacy service.
• Develop policies and procedures to ensure safe medication practices in relation to electronic prescribing.
• Undertake clinical management of patients under a defined plan following diagnosis by a clinician.
• Advise on oncology pharmacy issues including clinical, funding and prescribing aspects.
• Contribute as a member of the pharmacy management team to the department’s strategic vision.
