Job summary

East and North Hertfordshire Teaching NHS Trust is recruiting a Band 5 Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician for Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy. The role focuses on developing, configuring, testing and managing the Electronic Prescribing (EP) system for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).

You will act as a champion user, provide helpdesk support, train pharmacy, nursing and prescribing staff, and participate in dispensary, stock control and chemotherapy desk activities,

Qualifications

• Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
• NVQ3 or BTEC certificate in pharmacy
• Previous pharmacy services experience
• Experience with WellSky dispensing system is desirable
• Experience with electronic prescribing systems is desirable

Responsibilities

Job description

We are recruiting for a Band 5 Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician at the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre Pharmacy who shares our ambition to provide high-quality care and an outstanding experience for every patient, every time.

This role is ideal for a Pharmacy Technician who is registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and holds an NVQ3 or BTEC Cert. Previous experience in pharmacy services is essential, while background experience Wellsky dispensing systems, or electronic prescribing systems is highly desirable. You will be supported by a dedicated team of cancer pharmacy staff to deliver comprehensive pharmaceutical services to patients on day case units and wards.

You will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT). Acting as a champion user of the system, you will provide critical helpdesk support and help train pharmacy, nursing, and prescribing staff. Additionally, your day-to-day activities will include participating in the dispensary, managing stock control, operating the chemotherapy desk, and counseling patients on their medication.

The Electronic Prescribing Support Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for supporting the development, configuration, testing, and ongoing management of the Electronic Prescribing (EP) System for Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT).

Working under the supervision of the Advanced Oncology Pharmacist Electronic Prescribing, you will support the ongoing management of the EP system.

You will act as a point of contact to help resolve system queries and contribute to the delivery of training programs for pharmacy and clinical staff.
