Job summary

Square is seeking a Senior Onboarding Specialist to lead the technical onboarding and activation for SMB and Mid-Market merchants, delivering a seamless, scalable onboarding experience. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to realize value from Square's solutions.

You will translate complex requirements into actionable features, manage multiple onboarding projects, and mentor junior team members.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in a customer-facing role, with 3+ years in project management, onboarding, or implementation.
• Ability to manage multiple complex projects across competing priorities and timelines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, with ability to translate requirements clearly.
• Working knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead the onboarding and activation of new merchants, delivering a scalable onboarding experience.
• Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, Product, Engineering, and Customer Success.
• Document product capabilities and limitations for prospective sellers.
• Manage multiple onboarding projects concurrently, balancing priorities and timelines.
• Identify and mitigate onboarding risks and ensure successful outcomes.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team enablement.
• Support data entry and data migration activities for select sellers.
• Drive improvements with AI-powered automation where appropriate.
• Occasionally travel up to 10% for client meetings and deployments.
