Senior OLE Design Engineer – Hybrid Rail Electrification Lead

Job summary

AECOM is expanding its Transportation team in the UK, recruiting a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to work on Network Rail framework contracts and major electrification schemes from Manchester (Level 4 - 100 Emban) or other offices. You will lead OLE design delivery, supervise engineers, and ensure safe, economical project outcomes.

Working within a hybrid model, you will apply BIM practices, manage design queries, and collaborate across disciplines to meet client objectives while upholding

Qualifications

• Proven lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line design.
• Extensive knowledge of OLEMI and other OLE ranges (UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT, SNCF, UK1).
• Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.
• Understanding of Earthing & Bonding for electrification.
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD software.
• Experience leading teams and working in BIM environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expertise: act as Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer for OLE schemes.
• Lead: delivery and management of production of technical designs for OLE including layout plans, cross sections, allocations, isolation diagrams updates, bonding designs, and supporting reports.
• Ensure Quality: designs delivered to standards, constructible, Safe by Design, within budget and programme constraints.
• Collaborate: communicate with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors.
• Prepare fee proposal and respond to design queries during construction and attend site meetings.
• Undertake Project Engineer duties for Network Rail subject to assessment by the Designated Project Engineer via Form F0054.
