Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to join the Transportation team across UK offices. The role focuses on OLE design for Network Rail frameworks, leading design efforts and delivering safe, economical projects in a hybrid work model.

You will report to the Team Leader, manage engineers and designers, ensure designs meet current standards, and collaborate across disciplines. Chartered engineers and BIM/CDE experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

Lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line design.
Experience with OLEMI and OLE ranges (UK1, etc.).
Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their updates.
Understanding of Earthing & Bonding for electrification.
Proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD.
Excellent communications and organization skills.
CSM-RA & Health and Safety including CDM.
Experience managing teams.
Experience in a 3D common data environment (BIM).
Ability to develop OLE designs.
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Eng; Chartered (or pursuing).

Responsibilities

Provide Expertise: Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer duties for OLE design schemes.
Lead: deliver and manage production of technical designs for OLE incl Layout Plans, Cross Sections and reports.
Ensure Quality: ensure designs meet current standards, are constructible and Safe by Design.
Collaborate: communicate with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors.
Prepare fee proposal and respond to design queries; attend site meetings as required.
Undertake Project Engineer duties for Network Rail via assessment by Designated Project Engineer.
