Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to join the Transportation team in the UK. The role focuses on delivering safe, economical and high‑quality OLE design schemes for Network Rail framework contracts and other railway environments.

You will lead a team of engineers and designers, ensuring designs meet design standards and BIM practices, while coordinating with internal disciplines and clients across Manchester, Swindon, Glasgow and Birmingham offices.

Qualifications

• Proven lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line design.
• Knowledge of OLEMI and UK rail ranges.
• Familiar with isolation diagrams and their updates.
• Understanding of earthing and bonding for electrification.

Responsibilities

• Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer for OLE schemes.
• Lead delivery of OLE designs: layouts, cross sections, allocations, diagrams and bonding.
• Ensure designs meet current standards, are constructible and safe.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and sub-contractors.
• Prepare fee proposals and respond to design queries during construction.
