Job summary

AECOM in the UK is seeking a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to join the Transportation team in Manchester. You will integrate with an established OLE group to deliver safe, economical designs for Network Rail frameworks and major electrification schemes.

Lead the design and technical delivery of OLE schemes, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate across disciplines while adhering to BIM and Safe by Design practices. Hybrid working and a strong engineering culture are supported.

Qualifications

• Proven lead designer experience in significant OLE design projects.
• Knowledge of OLE ranges and isolation diagrams.
• Understanding of earthing and bonding for electrification.
• Experience with BIM procedures and 3D data environments.
• Ability to lead and coordinate a multi-discipline design team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide Expertise: act as Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer for OLE schemes.
• Lead: deliver technical designs for OLE including layouts, cross sections, updates, and reports.
• Ensure Quality: ensure designs meet standards, are constructible, and safe.
• Collaborate: work with other design/construction disciplines and sub-contractors.
• Prepare fee proposal and respond to design queries during construction.
• Undertake Project Engineer duties for Network Rail if assessed.
