Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Overhead Line Engineer to join the Transportation team across Manchester, Swindon, Glasgow & Birmingham. You will lead OLE design, manage design teams, and deliver safe, economical schemes for Network Rail and related projects.

The role requires strong experience in OLE design, 3D BIM/CDE environments, and familiarity with UK OLE standards. Hybrid work arrangement in the UK is supported with flexible location options.

Qualifications

• Proven lead designer experience in significant Overhead Line technical design.
• Comprehensive knowledge of OLEMI and UK OLE ranges (UKMS, Series-1, Series-2, Mk3B, GEFF, Mk1, SICAT).
• Familiar with Isolation diagrams and their update process.
• Understanding of Earthing and Bonding for electrification.
• Proficient in Bentley MicroStation CAD software.
• Chartered Engineer status or active progression toward chartership.

Responsibilities

• Act as Contractors Responsible Engineer and Lead designer for OLE schemes.
• Lead delivery of technical designs for OLE: Layout Plans, Cross Sections, Allocations, Isolation diagrams, bonding designs, reports and calculations.
• Ensure designs meet current standards, are constructible, and align with Safe by Design principles.
• Collaborate with other disciplines and sub-contractors; manage resources and programme.
• Prepare fee proposal and respond to design queries during construction; attend site meetings as needed.
