Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior OHL Engineer to lead high‑voltage overhead line design across UK transmission projects. You will provide technical support on complex multi‑discipline schemes up to 400 kV, contributing to major programmes and ensuring alignment with client standards.

The role requires a CEng Chartered background, a Bachelor's in engineering, and strong communication skills. Expect a flexible hybrid model, ongoing professional development, and engagement with National Grid scale

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognised electrical engineering institution (e.g. IET).
Experience delivering UK transmission projects with TSO standards.
Overhead line engineering experience up to 400 kV.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide project technical support and design for transmission projects up to 400 kV.
Deliver overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
Participate in large programmes like GGP projects.
Support in proposals, timelines, resources and budgets.
Provide technical input during project implementation and public consultations.
Originate and check complex designs, reports and drawings.
