Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust in Lancashire is seeking a Payroll Account Manager to lead our payroll team within the Employee Services Department. You will manage payroll processing, ensure deadlines, and apply NHS terms and conditions with a focus on accuracy and compliance.

The role requires knowledge of NHS payroll, pensions, statutory legislation and ESR, plus strong data analysis and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Hold or study towards IPPM Diploma in Payroll Management or NVQ level six.
• Previous managerial experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the payroll team within the Employee Services Department.
• Oversee workloads and task prioritisation.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NHS payroll, pension and legislation.
• Extract, analyse and interpret complex payroll data from ESR reports.
• Provide senior level assistance across the department.
• Support audit requirements.
