Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a Payroll Officer to input a range of pay-affecting data into the National ESR Payroll system and perform calculations such as PAYE, National Insurance, SMP and SSP.

In this fully office-based role you will work to strict deadlines, ensure accuracy, undertake recovery actions where needed, advise employees under departmental procedures and make correct ESR entries.

Qualifications

• Experience and knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office packages.
• Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Understanding and knowledge of dealing with sensitive and confidential issues, work policies and procedures (GDPR).

Responsibilities

• Input a range of pay-affecting data into the ESR Payroll system and perform calculations (PAYE, National Insurance, SMP, SSP).
• Work to strict deadlines with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Take appropriate recovery action based on individual circumstances and advise employees per procedures.
• Make corrective ESR entries to ensure accurate deductions and entries.
