Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a software engineer for the Egress team to own connectivity for our network-as-a-service. You will contribute to cutting-edge network software used across Cloudflare products, including WARP and iCloud Private Relay, translating requirements into platform capabilities and collaborating with Network Engineering and SRE to optimize performance on our edge network.

You will participate in all stages of the software lifecycle, write code and specs, release plans, and production

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HTTP, TLS and CDN networks.
• Experience with secure and highly available distributed systems.
• Programming experience in Go or Rust and a willingness to improve in both.
• Experience in monitoring, alerting and debugging large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools in a professional setting.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills and on-call experience.

Responsibilities

• Design systems and write specs; implement code and automated tests.
• Plan releases for complex changes and coordinate production deployments.
• Work across teams to translate requirements into platform capabilities.
• Participate in daily and ad-hoc team meetings and on-call rotations.
• Investigate customer issues escalated to the Egress team.
• Diagnose issues and respond to questions in internal/public chat rooms.
• Use AI-powered tools to analyze codebases and production data.
