Job summary

Beaumont, a well-established MSP in Sheffield, seeks a senior engineer who can scope, build, deliver and mentor the team post-delivery. If you want the full picture—not just one slice of the cycle—this is for you.

This role isn’t desk-bound; you’ll work directly with clients on discovery workshops, Azure migrations, and end-to-end projects across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking and security, while mentoring the wider engineering group. The role is hybrid with 2–3 days in the Sheffield office.

Qualifications

• Solid time in an MSP or IT consultancy environment.
• Hands-on experience across Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and Azure, including hybrid cloud.
• Foundational knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Hyper-V or VMware, firewalls, and routing & switching.
• Ability to explain technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders, including sales teams and clients.
• Active interest in maintaining certifications rather than treating them as a checkbox.
• Full UK driving licence for occasional client site travel.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery workshops and site audits, turning findings into designs, proposals, and SOWs.
• Lead end-to-end projects across Microsoft 365 (Intune, Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams), Azure (VMs, networks, backup, ASR, hybrid setups), and networking & security.
• Handle on-prem and hybrid infrastructure: Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware or Hyper-V, and storage.
• Act as the final technical escalation point for business-critical incidents, performing root cause analysis.
• Mentor 1st- to 3rd-line engineers to strengthen the wider team.
• Keep certifications current to protect the company’s Microsoft Partner status.
