Job summary

Nexian in Birmingham is seeking a Senior 3rd Line Engineer to own complex incidents and drive technical excellence across our managed services.

You'll mentor engineers, support Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune and Defender, and collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to raise service standards and outcomes.

This hybrid role (3 days in office) offers a competitive salary and broad exposure to modern Microsoft technologies.

Qualifications

• At least five years' senior 2nd/3rd line experience in MSP or multi-customer environment.
• Strong Microsoft infrastructure knowledge: Windows Server, AD, Microsoft 365.
• Experience with Entra ID, Intune and Defender is a plus.
• Ability to troubleshoot across networking, virtualization, backups, and cloud services.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of complex 3rd Line incidents from investigation to resolution.
• Support Windows Server, AD, M365, Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Entra ID, Intune, Defender.
• Troubleshoot networking, virtualization, backup and infrastructure across customer environments.
• Act as senior escalation point for Service Desk and mentor engineers.
• Improve service quality and technical standards with the Service Delivery Manager.
• Produce clear technical documentation and contribute to knowledge sharing.
